Week 2 (FYP2) Date: 29/7/2019 Title: Methods used for the antenna design The week before this material have been chosen for the design of the antenna. The methods that was chosen in designing of the antenna was a stacked Dr and a power divider for the antenna. For the feeding method of this antenna, i used a slot feeding method for the antenna. Stacked DR Stacked DRA provides a wider impedance bandwidth with a flexible shape that can be used as compared to a microstrip patch antenna.  Once the DR is chosen which consists of a low permittivity the size of the antenna itself will increase and causes the bandwidth to become wider.  From the above image, the DR is stacked in which the Rogers RO6010 is placed in between FR4. T-Junction Power Divider A power divider is also known as a power splitter and this is a passive device that is commonly used in the field of radio technology. Using it in reverse, it can be used as a power combiner. A power divider’s function is...

Week 1 (FYP2)

Week 1 (FYP2) Date: 22/7/2019 Title: Redefine methods in the Antenna Design The first week of FYP2 is to redefine the methods in designing the Antenna. After an in depth research was done in designing the antenna, i have found out that a cylindrical stacked DR is more suitable to be used in the antenna.  Other than using the multi layered DR, i have also found out that adding a power divider to the design is suitable for the design of the antenna.  After the researched was done and discussion was made with Dr Ismail i have listed the materials that will be used in the antenna: Rogers RO4003C Rogers RO6010 FR4 20GHz connector Silver Paste
