Week 14 (FYP2) Date: 28/10/2019 Title: Technical Report Writing As I was selected to represent BMI for the conference the is going to be held on the 27th November i was called to get an early briefing on the technical report writing that was conducted by Dr Marwangi. During the briefing myself an a few other students was taught on how to write a technical report for publishing. As understood by me the tips and tricks of writing a good technical report was to briefly explain the aim and purpose of the paper in the abstract. Once the notes have been taken down from the briefing i compiled all the data from my thesis and continued with the technical report. The technical report was done and submitted to Dr Ismail for checking and have been submitted for publishing.

Week 13 (FYP2) Date:21/10/2019 Title: Continuation of Thesis Writing Compiling all the results that was collected during the the measurements that was made after the fabrication of the DRA, the results is put in sequence in chapter 4 which is the results and analysis. But before continuing with chapter 4, i need to re do chapter 3 as a few of the methods have changed from FYP 1. After i re did the chapter 3 i continued with compiling with the results and analysis of the thesis. In addition, after finishing the full thesis i submitted my thesis to Dr. Ismail for plagiarism checking before i print the thesis for submission. Alhamdulillah i managed to finish writing my thesis just in time when Turin it is open for checking.

Week 12 (FYP2)

Week 12 (FYP2) Date:14/10/2019 Title: FYP2 Full Thesis write up After each of the students finishes the presentations each students must finish a write up on their thesis. Continuing with the thesis that has been written during FYP 1, the thesis was written up to chapter 3 which is from introduction until up to methodology. The continuation of the thesis is for chapter 4 and chapter 5 which is the results and analysis and conclusion. In the final thesis it must consists: Acknowledgements Table of contents List of tables List of figures List of abbreviations Abstract Chapter 1 (Introduction) Chapter 2 (Literature Review) Chapter 3 (Methodology) Chapter 4 (Results and discussion) Chapter 5 (Conclusion and future recommendation) References

Week 11 (FYP2)

Week 11 (FYP2) Date: 9/10/2019 Title: FYP Presentation The judgement day have arrived and each students is needed to present his or hers project to the assessors that has been invited by UniKL BMI. The FYP presentation was conducted at Gemilang hall from 9 am -12 pm. A week before the presentation, i was told by Dr Ismail that i will be assessed by an internal assessor and an external assessor from the industry which turned out to be a BMI Alumni. He was intrigued with the design of the antenna as this was the first in which an undergraduate student did a research on an antenna for the applications of 5G.     The presentation went well and according to plan and Alhamdulillah everything worked during the presentation.

Week 10 (FYP2) Date:2/10/2019 Title: Banner Design for FYP presentation This is the final week to design the banner for the FYP presentation. As in the previous semester the students was only asked to design a poster for the presentation. But due to the limited amount of place as the number of students increased since last semester, students from this semester is asked to design a banner instead. For the banner presentation each students must include: Objectives Project Description Flowchart Methodology Results Conclusions  References The banner is used to represent the project of each student and is used for detailed explanation on the students project. After the banner was printed the expected design of the banner is not as expected and this is due to the printer that was used in the banner printing. To avoid any unclear print of the graph and the design on the banner i have prepared a slide presentation of the design and the graph for the assessors.  ...

Week 9 (FYP2) Date: 23/9/2019 Title: Measurements Made on the Fabricated Antenna When the DRA is done fabricated, it then needs to be measured. To measure the DRA, it must be measured using a network analyzer that is suitable for the high frequency. The figures below shows the sequence of measurements that was taken for the fabricated DRA. Measurements made Using network Analyzer After the completion of fabricating the antenna, measurements must be taken from the fabricated antenna to see if it meets with the simulated result. At first the measurements was quite difficult as an electronics student i was not taught with the use of a network analyzer. With the help of a PhD student, he taught me on how to preset the network analyzer, connecting the antenna to the network analyzer. The aim is to get the value of the return loss from the antenna and compares it with the simulated values.  DRA connected to the transmitter Max Gain of the DRA Once i have obta...

Week 8 (FYP2) Date: 16/9/2019 Title: Fabrication of the Antenna Before the fabrication of the antenna can be done, the materials must first be bought for the fabrication process. Due to the materials that is hard to get i have gone back to Penang to get the materials from USM. With the help of the Postgraduate students there i was able to get the materials that needs to be used for the antenna. The materials was in the form of a PCB board and in order to get the material an etching process must be done to get the material. The figure below shows the antenna being constructed.  Fabricated Power Divider  The fabrication part of the power divider starts off with a CAD drawing of the power divider and the slot for the main part of the antenna. Once the CAD drawing of the design is finally finished, i went to USM's PCB lab to etch the PCB only leaving the drawn power divider and the slot. The etching part was done to remove the unwanted copper layer on the PCB board le...
