Week 12 (FYP1)

Week 12 (FYP1) Date: 29/4/2019 Title: Project Discussion with Supervisor After going through the briefing with the FYP coordinator the students must go and meet their supervisor to do a final checkup on the slide presentation that will be conducted on the 8/5/2019. I went to see Dr Ismail to do a final checkup on my slides so that i would be prepared and a simple mock question for the defense day was discussed by me and Dr Ismail and how to overcome the Question if the question are quite tough to answer. Once my meeting with Dr Ismail was finished i went home to finish my final touch up for my slides Presentation and do some further reading for the Presentation.

Week 11 (FYP1)

Week 11 (FYP1) Date: 24/4/2019 Title: FYP briefing on FYP Proposal Defense Day After finishing the design of the antenna for FYP 1. We are required to come out with a slideshow presentation to present the proposal of the porject that we are doing for FYP and in my case a Design of an antenna that produces Circular polarization and can be used for 5G applications. The briefing conducted by Dr Imran was to guide us and gives us tips on how to defense our proposal of the design that we are doing for our FYP. The briefing was also to help us in giving the final idea on how we can improve the Thesis that we are writing and improve the slideshow presentation that we have done.

Week 10 (FYP1) Date: 15/4/2019 Title: Project Discussion with Supervisor After finishing with the initial design of the DRA I have advanced a bit in the DRA design with designing a DRA that can produce circular polarization. After finishing the initial design i have made a further research in which i can advance the design of the antenna to suit the requirements on making it circularly polarized and can be used for 5G applications. With doing the research i have found out that in designing the antenna a few different method can be used to generate circular polarization in which by changing the position of the feeding for the antenna and shifting the feeding can also generate circular polarization. But my idea was to combine a conformal trip feeding and adding a 90 degrees microstrip feeding in order to generate the circular polarization.  Here i attach the designs that i have improved from the initial design. Week 9 (FYP1) Date: 10/4/2019 Title: FYP 1 Workshop on methodology and preliminary results A workshop was conducted by the FYP coordinator in regards with the thesis writing. As the earlier workshop was to guide students in writing the introduction and article review of the thesis. This workshop that was conducted by Dr Imran was intended to guide the FYP 1 students with the proper way of writing the methodology of the thesis and doing a write up on the preliminary results of the thesis.  B elow i have attached the flowchart for my design of the antenna.  This flowchart was design to help me in following the structure of the antenna designing.

Week 8 (FYP1) Date: 1/4/2019 Title: Project Discussion with Supervisor After familiarizing myself with using the CST software i have made some simple design to make sure that i am good at using the software to design the antenna. With the help of Dr Ismail, Usman and Javed. I have come up with some simple design of the antenna with the cylindrical DR as the shape of the DR . With this also i have experimented with different height, diameter of the DR and a couple of material to be used as the DR just to see what changes it would make to the frequency band with the change of height, diameter and the relative permitivity of the DR. Below here are a few examples of the simple design i have made. Above is the first design that i have made for this antenna. The initial design and intention of drawing a simple design of the DR was to understand the designing part of the DR.
